The best places for a photoshoot in Punta Cana

Punta Cana looks like one long beach on the map, but the look of your photos changes a lot depending on where we go. Here is how I think about it when couples and families ask me.

1. Your own resort

Best for: families with kids, big groups, tight schedules.

It's the easiest option by far. No transport, no timing stress, and you can go back to your room to change. Most resorts in Bávaro, Cap Cana and Uvero Alto have beautiful gardens, pools and a stretch of beach in front.

The only thing to check: some resorts charge an outside-photographer fee or ask for registration. I confirm this with you before you book, so there are no surprises at the lobby.

2. Macao Beach

Best for: couples, proposals, anyone who wants a wild, natural look.

Macao is a public beach about 20–30 minutes from most Bávaro resorts. Big waves, dunes, sea grape trees and green cliffs at the end of the bay. During the day it gets busy with surf schools and buggy tours; by late afternoon it quiets down and the light is gorgeous.

3. Juanillo Beach, Cap Cana

Best for: calm, elegant, turquoise-water photos.

Leaning palms and very calm water. It feels polished and classic. Access rules in Cap Cana can change, so I'll confirm the current situation for your date.

4. Bávaro Beach

Best for: sunrise sessions, easy logistics.

Long white sand close to many resorts. At sunrise it's almost empty. At sunset the sun sets behind the land here, so the light is soft rather than a sun-over-the-sea look — still beautiful.

5. Uvero Alto

Best for: guests staying up north who want quiet, natural beaches.

Fewer people, more nature. If your resort is there, we stay close and use it.

When you send your inquiry, tell me three things: where you're staying, who is in the photos, and the look you like. With that I suggest one or two locations and the time with the best light for your dates.

Most couples end up choosing Macao or their resort; most families choose their resort. There's no wrong answer — the right place is the one where you'll feel relaxed.
