Why Macao
Macao is one of the few public beaches around Punta Cana that still feels natural. The landscape changes as we walk: dunes, sea grape trees, the cliffs at the end of the bay.
The water is rougher than at the resorts, which means movement, spray and drama in the photos — especially in the last hour of light.
Practical details
- It's about 20–30 minutes from most Bávaro resorts by car.
- The beach has surf schools and small restaurants; by late afternoon it quiets down.
- We plan to arrive about 75 minutes before sunset.

Questions
How do we get to Macao?
It's about 20–30 minutes by car from most Bávaro resorts. Round-trip transportation is included with the current US$150 Macao offer, subject to the offer conditions.
Is Macao good for families with kids?
Yes for playing on the sand, but the waves are strong, so we keep little ones out of the water.
Can we combine it with our resort?
Yes — with a longer session we can start at your resort and finish at Macao for sunset.
What if it rains?
Caribbean rain usually passes in minutes, and cloudy light is often beautiful. If the weather doesn't cooperate, we simply move a few hours later or to another day — in Punta Cana it's common for rain to pass and the sun to come right back out, so there's nothing to worry about.
